John Kerry and Al Jazeera Join Forces

John Kerry, John Conyers, Ralph Nader, John Dean, lefties all over the country and Al Jazeera are united in a common cause.

The rallying cry?

IMPEACH BUSH!

On what grounds?
The secret Downing Street memo.

What explosive information does it hold that could lead to the impeachment of the President? Nothing. Of course, that's irrelevant.

The smoking gun passage:

C reported on his recent talks in Washington. There was a perceptible shift in attitude. Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy. The NSC had no patience with the UN route, and no enthusiasm for publishing material on the Iraqi regime's record. There was little discussion in Washington of the aftermath after military action.

John Conyers penned a letter at the beginning of May, signed by 88 members of Congress, demanding that President Bush answer questions regarding the "troubling allegations" the memo raises.

The White House has not responded to the letter.

At a May 23, 2005,
press briefing, Scott McClellan said, "[I]f anyone wants to know how the intelligence was used by the administration, all they have to do is go back and look at all the public comments over the course of the lead-up to the war in Iraq, and that's all very public information. Everybody who was there could see how we used that intelligence.

"And in terms of the intelligence, it was wrong, and we are taking steps to correct that and make sure that in the future we have the best possible intelligence, because it's critical in this post-September 11th age, that the executive branch has the best intelligence possible."

Meanwhile, Conyers has spent his time gathering signatures for a petition on his
website, calling for Bush to address the issue.

According to
RAW STORY, "The congressman's office says Conyers hopes to present the letter to the President in person, in what may be a media event; they believe the letter could have a 'viral effect' and spark new interest in the steps taken by the Bush Administration in the run-up to the Iraq war and the so-called 'Downing Street Memo.'"

Jumping on the anti-Bush bandwagon,
Al Jazeera cheerleads for John Kerry's efforts, reporting that he "announced Thursday that he intends to present Congress with The Downing Street Memo, reported last month by the London Times...Failed presidential candidate Kerry advised that he will begin the presentation of his case for President Bush's impeachment to Congress, on Monday."

Al Jazeera also puts in a plug for Michael Moore's website and the Democratic Underground, stating that the story has received little attention from American news outlets.

That's about to change. My guess is the MSM will be slobbering all over Kerry's little dance.

I'm not surprised the Dems would pull this. They have no ideas, no vision, nothing of value to offer the country. They've got nothing better to do than attack the Bush administration and go down Impeachment Road. They prefer to put the business of the country on hold while they go about this side show.

I wonder what McCain and the Gang of Seven are thinking now. New spirit of agreement. New era of bipartisanship. What a joke!

The embittered Dems have not gotten over the election of 2000. Although any impeachment attempts will surely fail, they don't care. They just want payback. How pathetic! How totally in character!
