ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) -- Two Surinamese brothers who had been detained and released in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway were arrested again Friday based on new evidence, officials said.

Satish and Deepak Kalpoe were arrested after authorities uncovered "new facts and circumstances" in the investigation of Holloway's disappearance, the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

The brothers were detained on suspicion of involvement, with unidentified "other people," in premeditated murder and rape, the prosecutor's office said.

To arrest them again, "there had to be new facts and circumstances. That is the case," the statement said. Authorities declined further comment.

The prosecutor's office also said the brothers were suspected of other offenses, but they did not provide details. No information was disclosed about a third man who authorities said was arrested Friday with the Kalpoes.

Satish, 18, and Deepak, 21, were released from jail in July after a judge ruled there was not enough evidence to hold them in the disappearance of the 18-year-old American, who vanished the final night of a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island.

Earlier, a lawyer for Satish Kalpoe said authorities had not disclosed why the brothers had been arrested again. "They haven't shown us any evidence," Elgin Zeppenveldt told reporters outside a court where they were to appear before a judge.

...Holloway's family said they were pleased about the arrests, which they learned about from the FBI.

"We haven't been told why, but I think it's obvious," Natalee's stepmother, Robin Holloway, said by phone from Meridian, Miss. "We've known all along they had something to do with Natalee's disappearance."

Speaking with reporters in their hometown in suburban Birmingham, Ala., Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, said she didn't know anything about the third person who was in custody but was happy the Kalpoe brothers were back in custody.

"That's what we wanted all along," said Jug Twitty, Holloway's stepfather. "They must really have something on them or they wouldn't have arrested them again."

Greta Van Susteren tells of how her vacation plans, including taking Friday night off, were altered so she could follow today's developments in Aruba.

Greta writes:

Here is what happened this morning:

Early this morning I got a tip: The Kalpoe brothers have been re-arrested and another suspect was also under arrest. The arrest was at 6 a.m. Because rumors run wild in Aruba on this case, we wanted to get another source. We did not dare report it until we were absolutely certain.

Calls went out quickly everywhere for confirmation and our producer in Aruba (George Szucs) got busy... very, very, very busy. Armed with his cell phone, his video camera and the car, he took off to chase down the story.

We also solicited the help of investigative reporter, Tito Lacle. With "all hands on deck," our people were able to get the arrest confirmed. In fact, in short order, we had two confirmations of our original tip.

I was also told by my producer in Aruba that there would be an 11 a.m. court hearing. A very short time later, he was at the courthouse — way ahead of everyone (including the parties to this investigation.) I called him on his cell several times and at one time said, "What's going on?" He said, "I am the only one here."

A short time later — and well before 11 a.m. — he called and told me that the Kalpoe brothers' mother had arrived. Since the producer and I have met many times with her, she was easily recognizable to him. He attempted to talk to her but she did not want to talk. This is understandable.

Needless to say, all morning long, we have all been pounding the phones. We are learning much about the other person arrested — Freddy — and will give you those details at 10 p.m. tonight.

What has caught my attention most is the timeline we have pieced together. From Satish's lawyer the other night on the show, we learned that someone was on the Internet at the Kalpoe residence from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. Why did that person get off the Internet at 3 a.m.? Note that 3 a.m. is the exact time that Joran van der Sloot's second call went to Deepak's cell phone (the first was 2:40 a.m.)

Stay tuned...
