Crime and Violence on Milwaukee's South Side

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel provides a little information on some incidents of crime on Milwaukee's south side:

ROBBERY

Police are seeking one suspect who robbed a Walgreen's about 4:24 p.m. [yesterday] near S. 6th St. and W. Oklahoma Ave. A weapon was not displayed.

STABBING
Milwaukee police are seeking a suspect accused of stabbing a 46-year-old man in the head on the city's south side yesterday.

The victim and suspect were in an argument that escalated into a fight and then the stabbing about 1:19 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. 19th St.

SHOOTING
Two men are in custody today in connection with the shooting of a 31-year-old man who suffered a graze wound early this morning, according to Milwaukee police.

The shooting occurred about 12:22 a.m. in the 4500 block of S. 13th St.

The suspects were known and quickly arrested. One is 32. The age of the other suspect was not available from reports this morning.

Because the suspects in the shooting were known and quickly arrested, I get the feeling they may have been gang members.

In any event, at least in the case of the shooting, the thugs are in custody.

Unfortunately, the thug responsible for the robbery was not apprehended. It's also unfortunate that a description of the thug isn't provided.

How can citizens protect themselves and their businesses if they aren't given more information on the "known" bad guys?
