The Website

Here it is---the website of Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald.

There really is nothing of significance up on it now. It's all old stuff. Nonetheless, it embodies the hopes and dreams of the Bush-haters.

In a couple of days, the site is likely to get a lot of traffic. In the meantime, the speculation about Fitzgerald's investigation runs wild.

The fact that a website has been created can be considered an ominous sign. True enough, you don't put up a website to say the investigation is over and there are no indictments. You don't do that to say, "Nevermind. Nothing to see here. "

Still, I am sick of all of the speculation. Talking heads keep blabbing on and on as if they know with metaphysical certitude that Rove and Libby are being indicted.

For the most part, they've moved on from speculating about the possibility or the probability of indictments and are focusing on how the "guaranteed" indictments will impact the Bush administration.

What is fueling much of this discussion?

LEAKS.

The investigation about leaks is full of leaks.

That irony is not lost on me.

Dems and their lib media mouthpieces are bubbling with more anticipation than six-year-olds on Christmas Eve.

The past few days have been filled with news devoid of facts. Guesswork is passing for journalism.

I wonder if Fitzgerald is enjoying this.
