Lee Parker: Victim of Snitchin'

The manhunt for alleged murderer Lee Parker ended yesterday.

The suspected killer of 16-year-old Amber Lewis and 19-year-old Thedovonzail "Theo" Loyd is currently hospitalized from a "pre-existing condition," but he's expected to be charged with the murders this morning.

MILWAUKEE -- West Allis police arrested the man they believe is responsible for killing a 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man Tuesday.

Police say someone saw Lee Parker's picture on TV and told police where they could find him. Detectives got an anonymous tip that led them to 106th near Mill Road, but when they showed up to look for Parker, he took off.

Someone snitched.

GOOD!

Police chased him and eventually they got him at 112th and Mill. West Allis detectives brought their K-9 unit with them and searched the route Parker ran to see if he dropped the gun used in the crime, but the dog didn’t find anything.

West Allis detectives also interviewed people inside the house for information. They say Parker stayed over last night because he knew some mutual friends. But Iris Ewing, one of the two women who lives at the home, insists she did not know Parker was wanted.

Ewing is upset.

She said: "So, I'm very pissed off. I'm mad about it. Yes, because I don't know the man. "

Ewing let Parker stay overnight at her house. He came with some mutual friends.

It appears that Ewing trusted the wrong people.

She continued: "He up in my house and my kids. I got kids, and I don't want to sleep with this man in my house not knowing nothing, until today when all the police came."

Hopefully, Ewing won't let people she doesn't personally know stay at her home from now on, for the sake of her children.

...The shooting occurred around 8:37 a.m. Tuesday near the 2400 block of S. 84th Street. Amber Lewis, who was 16 years old, and Thedovonzail "Theo" Loyd, who was 19 years old, were killed. Police say the victim and the suspect were in a relationship. Lewis was found dead at the scene. Loyd was initially transported to Froedtert Hospital with gunshot wounds and died at Froedtert Wednesday morning.

Amber Lewis' friends say 23-year-old Parker was her boyfriend. She was a student at West Allis Central High School.

Although TMJ4 is reporting that Lewis attended West Allis Central, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that Lewis attended Nathan Hale.

Whatever, Lewis was a high school student dating a 23-year-old man.

I wouldn't let my 16-year-old daughter date someone that age.

Where were her parents?

Let me be clear. I'm not blaming the victim or her family in any way. Lewis' poor choice of a boyfriend and her family's role in her life aren't the reasons two people are dead. This is a case of cold-blooded murder, with no one to blame but Parker.

Nevertheless, it's troubling to me that a high school sophomore wasn't being adequately supervised. Parents need to know their kids' friends and they need to know what their kids are doing.

It's possible that Lewis wasn't honest with her parents and they didn't realize their daughter was dating someone so much older. I don't know the circumstances of Lewis' family life, but it is certain that Lewis' involvement with Parker played out tragically.

Cynthia Kaump of FOX 6 also interviewed Iris Ewing.

Ewing told FOX 6 she believed her overnight guest was a man named Tony.

She said: "He just came over with some friends last night."

She went on: "I'm mad about it, yes, 'cause I don't know the man. So all I know he coulda did anything while we were asleep, you know what I'm saying?"

She stressed: "I did not know him."

How could she let him sleep in her home?

Iris Ewing has six children, ages 3 to 9.

Kaump asked Ewing: "If there was a lesson that you could take from this and that you could share with other people, what would it be?

Ewing replied: "You can't trust everybody. That's all I can say. You can't trust everybody. Strangers, none of that."

Let me say again that Lee Parker is the alleged criminal here, no one else. He's the one who allegedly killed two people.

Ewing is not on trial here.

But why would a mother with SIX kids allow an untold number of friends, and a friend of a friend she DID NOT know, to sleep overnight in her home on a school night or any night for that matter?

The deaths of Amber Lewis and Theo Loyd bring to light disturbing issues regarding some Milwaukee area children and their home environments.

The one positive: Someone tipped off police on Parker's whereabouts and now he will be held accountable for his crimes.

Citizens must work with police to get the thugs off the streets.

Snitchin' gets results.

Snitchin' is good.
