Kagen: Will the Trains Still Run on INJUN TIME?

Steve Kagen, representative-elect for Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District, didn't get the committee assignment he wanted.

WASHINGTON -- Rep.-elect Steve Kagen, D-Appleton, has missed out on his first choice for a plum committee assignment next year.

Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday that Kagen will serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee next year.

Kagen, a physician specializing in allergies who partly ran on a "No Patient Left Behind" platform, had hoped to serve on the Energy and Commerce Committee because of its jurisdiction over health care policy.

However, no freshman Democrats were selected for that panel except for Rep. Baron Hill of Indiana, who has six years of previous service in Congress. He was elected to a seat he lost several years ago.

Dr. Kagen must be disappointed.

Oh, well.

Perhaps he can do some good as a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Kagen should focus on Amtrak reform and get those trains off
INJUN TIME.

Read Kagen's statement.

He doesn't want you to forget that he's a medical doctor -- STEVE KAGEN, M.D.

I wonder if he kept his patients lingering in the waiting room.

Did he stay on schedule, or did his office run on INJUN TIME?
