Two top Taliban leaders surrender
Kabul, Afghanistan, Apr. 22 (UPI) -- Two top members of Afghanistan's former Taliban have surrendered to the government under its amnesty program.
Mullah Mohammad Naseem, the former Taliban governor of Zabul province, and Haji Mohammad Akhtar, the former police chief of Farah province, have joined the national reconciliation program, Voice of America reported.
Helmand Gov. Mullah Sher Mohammad negotiated the surrender after a month of talks.
In another blow to the Taliban, coalition forces killed at least 12 insurgents in a clash in southeastern Khost province Tuesday, reported the U.S. military. Helicopters, aircraft and artillery were used to retaliate when four rockets were fired at the Salerno base. There were no coalition casualties.

"He took his eye off the ball, off of Osama bin Laden."
My question: How is our military managing to chip away at terrorist networks if Bush took his "eye off the ball"?
Anyone saying that the Bush administration abandoned the Afghanistan front in the War on Terror is swallowing the Dem kool-aid. By reiterating that lie from the left, they disgrace the service and sacrifice of our military men and women fighting there.
