GREENPEACE

According to its website, "Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action.

"Greenpeace is a non-profit organisation, with a presence in 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific.

"To maintain its independence, Greenpeace does not accept donations from governments or corporations but relies on contributions from individual supporters and foundation grants.

"As a global organisation, Greenpeace focuses on the most crucial worldwide threats to our planet's biodiversity and environment."

Greenpeace's official mission statement:

Greenpeace is an independent, campaigning organisation which uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and to force solutions for a green and peaceful future. Greenpeace's goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity.

That sounds nice, doesn't it?

Check out a Greenpeace ad that depicts a puppet Tony Blair having an "encounter" with President Bush.

Is this ad,
"Blair Blows Bush," Greenpeace's idea of "non-violent, creative confrontation"?

(Warning! It's graphic.)

Greenpeace may be non-profit, but it sure isn't nonpartisan.
