Tonight's the Night

President Bush will announce his nominee for the Supreme Court tonight.

AP reports:

Television outlets were asked to broadcast Bush's announcement live at 9 p.m. EDT from the White House. Traditionally, even major appointments are made in daytime ceremonies, but the White House decided to go all out for the first Supreme Court nomination since 1994.

For most of the afternoon, it's been speculated that Judge Edith Clement of the U.S. Court of Appeals in New Orleans would be the nominee.

ABC News says:

SOURCE TELLS ABC NEWS JUDGE EDITH CLEMENT IS NOT PRESIDENT BUSH'S CHOICE FOR SUPREME COURT.

Who knows?

The only sure thing at this point is that the hot "war" begins shortly after 9:00 PM EDT tonight.
