Support for London Cops

From The Sun:

RADICAL Muslim cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri yesterday BACKED police who shot dead a terror suspect at Stockwell Tube station.

The bearded fanatic has supported suicide bombers in the past — but changed his tune after Government threats to deport preachers who stir up racial hatred.

Bakri said: “I believe the police should do all in their power to prevent bombings in the UK. Nobody can doubt that. That is their duty, to make Britain as safe as possible.”

Norman Brennan, director of the Victims of Crime Trust, also defended the officers.

He said: “To protect society and themselves, the police have the right in law to use the force that they believe to be appropriate with the threat posed by anyone whose intention is to destroy the lives of others.

“The Police Service does not have a shoot to kill policy, it’s a shoot to protect policy.”
