Boo Hoo

In a review of last night's NFL kickoff pre-game show, Steve Morse of the Boston Globe writes:

West did one tune, "Heard 'Em Say." Yet it was disconcerting to hear his name booed loudly by Patriots fans who evidently didn't appreciate his nationally televised comment the other night on a Hurricane Katrina benefit that President Bush "doesn't care about black people." The boos were thunderous and lasted for much of his number.

Disconcerting?

In my opinion, that booing wasn't nearly as disconcerting as West's rant on NBC's Concert for Hurricane Relief last Friday.

If it's acceptable for West to exploit a telethon to raise funds for hurricane victims as a forum for him to express his political beliefs, it is certainly acceptable for football fans to exercise their right of free speech and express their opinion of West.

What goes around comes around.

I love it when that happens!
