The Inconvenient Truth about Doyle

This is getting ridiculous.

Just when I think it can't get any worse, it does.

Gov. Jim Doyle plans to bilk an additional whopping $1.6 billion from Wisconsin taxpayers over the next ten years.

From The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Gov. Jim Doyle's proposal to provide more funding for a state land purchase program will heap an estimated $1.6 billion in new costs on taxpayers in the next 10 years of the initiative.

The spending represents a dramatic increase in the size of a popular program that has helped protect more than 477,000 acres.

Money for the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund has helped bankroll vast swaths of northern forests, added to the Kettle Moraine State Forest and funded parcels in urban areas, such as the Hank Aaron State Trail.

...Doyle is seeking to increase the size of the Knowles-Nelson program by 75% - from $60 million a year to $105 million a year, beginning in 2011.

Under Doyle's plan, the estimated cost of interest and principal payments for state general obligation bonds would jump to $1.6 billion for the next 10 years of the program. In addition, the state must make payments to municipalities in lieu of property taxes.

That's Doyle in action, protector of middle class families, keeping a lid on taxes.

What a joke!

Republican Mark Green said over and over again during the campaign that he planned to control state spending to alleviate the tax burden. Doyle as governor would guarantee more spending and higher taxes.

Green was right about what a Doyle second term would mean.

Let's douse the flames of Wisconsin's tax hell.

Do we really want to burn for eternity?

Currently 36 states have adopted
term limits of various types for their governors.

We need to join the states that have protections against being stuck with a governor for life.

Even just eight years of Doyle is more than I can stand.

As it is, Doyle's on course to suck the state's taxpayers dry sooner than the world's rivers will dry up under Al Gore's global warming nightmare.

This calls for dramatic and immediate action.

Let's cap Doyle's tenure.

I know Wisconsin won't adopt term limits.

There's not a snowball's chance in Gore's world of that happening.

We're doomed under Doyle.
