Crime in Franklin

Crime isn't just an issue in the city of Milwaukee. There aren't walls between the city and its suburbs.

Crime doesn't stop at the city limits.
Suspect in hit-and-run crashes into van
A suspect in a hit-and-run collision who was fleeing police crashed his Cadillac into a van stopped at a traffic signal at S. 76th St. and W. Rawson Ave. shortly before noon Sunday, injuring three people in the van, Franklin police said.

The injured - a 38-year-old woman who was driving the van, a 48-year-man and a 15-year-old boy - were taken to hospitals. Three other passengers in the van were not hurt, police said.

The 32-year-old driver of the Cadillac was taken into custody and brought to a hospital.

According to police, the Cadillac driver was involved in a collision at S. 27th St. and W. Rawson Ave. about 11:45 a.m. When police attempted to stop him, he drove away, westbound on W. Rawson Ave. No injuries were reported in the hit-and-run crash, police said.

Franklin police suspect the man robbed the General Nutrition Center at 6505 S. 27th St. just minutes before the hit-and-run.

This guy did a lot of damage. Not your typical Sunday in Franklin.
