Another Arrest in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Green Bay police say they have arrested a third person in a Columbine-like plan at a local high school.

Captain David Hemes confirmed to the Green Bay Press-Gazette that the arrest is related to the Green Bay East High plot, but he says no other details are available.

On Thursday, police arrested two 17-year-olds they say planned to go on a shooting spree and explode bombs at the school. Another student alerted an associate principal to the plan.

Police say the boys told them they had been planning the massacre for several years.

According to The Green Bay Press-Gazette, the third person was arrested on Friday afternoon and sent to the Brown County Jail. The person is expected to be charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree intentional homicide.

One person is responsible for preventing a potential massacre at Green Bay East High School -- the student who told a school official about the plot.

It's frightening to think of what may have happened had this student decided to remain silent.

Thankfully, the student was not a follower of Milwaukee Alderman Michael McGee, Jr.'s "Respect Kampaign" with its "Stop Snitch'n" rule.

Only one person stepped up in a manner that enabled the prevention of a potential slaughter at East. That student should be hailed as a hero.
