Young Teens Shot Last Night in Milwaukee

More kids were shot on Milwaukee streets last night.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Two boys, 13 and 14, are hospitalized this morning after both were hit by bullets in a drive-by shooting Friday night, Milwaukee police said.

The 13-year-old is lucky to be alive after he sustained two shots in the upper body, Capt. Mike Young said. Both boys are listed in stable condition and expected to survive.

At 10:30 p.m., the boys were standing in the 2000 block of S. 27th St., Young said. It wasn't clear what they were doing, he said.

A small black four-door vehicle pulled up and multiple shots were fired, he said. There were three other drive-by shootings around the same time with a similar vehicle description and police think they might be related, he said.

...The shootings, which may be gang-related, may have grown out of a fight last week at South Division High School, he said. Police have no evidence the victims are in a gang, he said.

This is nauseating.

The 13-year-old probably isn't in high school. The 14-year-old could be a freshman.

These are young kids getting shot up!

Supposedly, they should have been at
a dance at the Boys & Girls Club.

This certainly sounds like a gang-related incident. I doubt that the shootings were the result of a dispute over Hannah Montana tickets.

I hope the kids are resting comfortably, recovering in their hospital rooms, watching cartoons right now.
