Bookstore Robbed: A Connection?

Is this latest robbery connected to the now highly publicized Bay View/far south side crime spree?

From
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

A south side bookstore was robbed early this morning but few details are being released as Milwaukee police continue to investigate the case today.

Police said one armed suspect robbed Libra Books, 2945 S. 13th St., about 1:30 a.m. A description was not released. No one was hurt.

...The bookstore is less than three miles from a Starbucks coffee shop at 2110 E. Oklahoma Ave. that was robbed on Monday.

St. Francis police are also investigating whether the armed robbery at a Blockbuster Video on Wednesday night could be part of the recent south side spree.

Few details are being released.

Whatever.

Does it matter whether or not this robbery is connected to the rash of crime spreading in Bay View and on the far south side, as far as St. Francis?

Who cares if it's the same person or persons?

What really counts is that crime is rampant.

The media have latched on to the spree because the idea that one man or one group is out there preying on people makes for an interesting story.

The big story isn't the possibility that the robberies are connected.

The big story is that the sort of crime that is commonplace in other areas of Milwaukee is becoming commonplace in Bay View and on the previously "safe" side.
