There's no way that she would be dragging Bill around at this stage in the Election 2008 game unless she felt seriously threatened.
She opens herself up to criticism that she can't make it on her own as a presidential candidate. She needs Bill to prop her up.
Like a good husband, he obliges. He certainly owes her one.
The Associated Press reports that they made a "rare" public appearance together on Sunday.
Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton took the stage Sunday with her husband, the former president, at a major fundraiser that brought in over $1 million for her presidential campaign.
In a Manhattan hotel ballroom filled with New York elected officials and wealthy Democratic donors, Bill Clinton introduced his wife by describing her long career in public service beginning at Yale Law School where the couple met 35 years ago.
He said he had encouraged her then to pursue a career in New York or Chicago and is still amazed she followed him back to Arkansas, where he was eager to run for office.
"I now have met all the best people in our generation, and you are the best," he recalled telling her then. "And I feel more strongly about that today than I did when I said it 35 years ago. That's why she should be president ... You'll never find anybody who will do a better job of it than she will."
I'm not buying it.
The Clintons have kept largely separate public schedules since Hillary Clinton launched her campaign in January. Sunday's event was the first large-scale fundraiser the couple has headlined together.
...The two will appear again together at a major fundraising dinner Tuesday night in Washington.
They have made just one joint campaign appearance together, at a civil rights commemoration in Selma, Ala., earlier this month.
I don't think "rare" applies anymore. This was only two weeks after Hillary brought out the big gun Bill to help in Selma. At the fundraiser on Tuesday, it will be a little ridiculous if the lib media announce yet another "rare" joint appearance.
I suspect the Bill and Hill public appearances will become far more routine than they have been in the last EIGHT YEARS.
In spite of what Hillary says, "I don't feel no ways tired," I think she does. If not tired, then she's scared.
I think Hillary took her major donors for granted. I doubt that she planned on having to compete for their cash with any other candidate, namely Barack Obama.

Is it really necessary to point out that Bill is the one on the left in this photo?

In case your confused, Hill is on the left in these two.
Although Bill loves to work a crowd, he doesn't look too thrilled to be in the role of Hillary's trained dog.
And although I'm sure Hillary enjoys barking orders at Bill, she doesn't look very comfortable at his side.
She probably knows that when they're on a stage together she gets lost in his shadow.
It's an awkward position for Hillary. She needs Bill's star power to keep up with Obama's magnetic appeal. At the same time, Bill makes her look like a pretender.
Bill may be able to bring in the bucks but that comes at a high price. Anytime Bill and Hillary are together, she looks less presidential and more like a door mat.
